In celebration of National Blood Donor Month, GAMA Foods Corporation, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – Cagayan de Oro Chapter, held a bloodletting activity on July 31, 2023, at the N&G Industrial Park
There were 61 donors who successfully donated from more than 70 who were initially screened and tested.
“Donating blood from time to time has good effects on our body, that is why it is encouraged that you give. Also, it can help save lives,” said John Albert Virtudazo, one of GAMA Foods Corporation’s company nurses.
“Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often” is this year’s campaign slogan. According to the World Health Organzation, said slogan “focuses on patients requiring life-long transfusion support and underlines the role every single person can play by giving the valuable gift of blood or plasma.”
